The Port Jervis Soap Box Derby online auction fundraiser will benefit the 2025 Derby as well as our scholarship, the Elizabeth Ashley “Boo” Bisland Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Port Jervis Soap Box Derby is an annual racing event held in June that has brought together hundreds of children to compete for a chance to represent our community in the international race in Akron Ohio. More than 80 children will be participating in this year’s derby in four divisions - Stock, Super Stock, Masters and Super Kids - our specialized division for children with special needs.
In addition to racing, each year we award scholarships to former derby drivers who are going on to continue their education after graduating high school. We recognize past drivers with this award based on their character, citizenship and community commitment.
And we’d love to have you join us on race day! This year’s derby will be held on Sunday, June 8th on Sussex Street in Port Jervis. Racing begins at 8:30am and continues throughout the day. Scholarships are awarded during derby ceremonies.
The online auction will be live leading up to the big day from May 23rd through June 6th. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. After 20+ years and 1000+ racers, we know it is donors like you that help our derby continue to thrive.
