PS9 Gala Silent Auction Saturday May 2 2020

On Saturday, May 2, 2020, the PS 9 community will come together for our school’s annual SILENT AUCTION. This fun and festive adult-night-out is a great opportunity to connect with parents outside of the school setting, bid on amazing items and raise money to support important programs for our kids. This year’s auction will feature an open bar, delicious eats, lively bidding, dancing, and great music.

This highly anticipated event is our school’s largest fundraiser and proceeds from this event help raise the critical funds that our school needs to maintain arts and academic enrichment programs going for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Last year, we had more than 250 parents, staff members,... Read more

Description: At Public School 9 (Sarah Smith Garnett) we believe in the bucket filler concept. To truly be a productive community, student and individual you must be willing to fill the bucket of your peers. To be a successful bucket filler, one's bucket must be filled with self-awareness, kindness, empathy, respect, and acceptance. Through the arts, our students can strengthen these attributes. Our vision is to provide enrichment programs that help develop the "whole child". We focus on programs that allow our students to understand concepts that develop cognitive learning so that every child will leave us with a solid foundation and a future full of opportunities. Our highest priority is increasing our support of OmniLearn, the innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)-based programs that help to improve the science proficiency of our students and by introducing them to the possibility of becoming engineers, chemists, and computer scientists. Your donation will directly fund school-wide enrichment programs – beloved by our students and teachers alike – such as Marquis Studios, Studio in a School and Playworks, PS 9 Yoga Studio as well and a new hydroponic lab for more than 900 students. These programs help PS 9 to create an inclusive and well-rounded learning environment and further ensure that our public school is a desirable destination for parents. On behalf of the families and staff at PS 9, we thank you in advance for your generous support.
