Description: The Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc., was established primarily to manage the annual celebratory activities for Jamaica’s independence in the North East region of the United States. All directors and executives are volunteers. While the year that was 2020 immediately conjures words like “challenge”, “hardship”, and “crisis”, there are lessons to be learned that offer optimism, and important perspective as we take on 2021. As human beings we have a spirit that is capable of withstanding stress, but we are learning how to adapt and adjust. We will emerge greater! Net proceeds of funds raised go towards supporting charities and causes that are near and dear to our organization such as "women crisis centers, and advocating for women, amateur athletics of Jamaican athletes competing here in the U.S. and education."
