      DRUHC Silent Auction – Terms & Conditions

      1. Eligibility

      • The auction is open only to residents of Ontario, Canada who are 18 years of age or older.
      • By registering on Charity Auction Today, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions and the platform’s Terms of Service.
      • The organizer reserves the right to verify residency and eligibility and to void any bids that do not meet requirements.

      2. Auction Dates

      • The silent auction opens on March 2 at 12:00 PM (EST).
      • The silent auction closes on March 16 at 12:00 PM (EST).
      • Charity Auction Today’s system clock is the official timekeeper for all bids and closing times.

      3. Registration & Bidding

      • Bidders must register with accurate contact and payment information.
      • Charity Auction Today may require credit card preauthorization before bidding.
      • All bids are binding; placing a bid constitutes a commitment to purchase the item if you are the winning bidder.
      • Starting bids and bid increments are shown on each item’s page.
      • The platform automatically records all bids; the highest bid submitted before closing is the winning bid.
      • Winners are notified via email or text through the platform.

      4. Payment

      • Payments are processed securely through Charity Auction Today’s integrated system and will not be automatically charged at closing.
      • An invoice will be sent to all winning bidders, giving them the option to review and manually pay their invoices with the same credit card they pre-registered with at the beginning. If payment is not completed within the 24–48-hour timeframe, the organizer will proceed to charge any unpaid invoices to the credit cards on file to ensure timely settlement.
      • If the credit card on file is declined and the cardholder does not respond after multiple contact attempts, the organizer may offer the item to the next highest bidder.

      5. Item Descriptions & Conditions

      • All items are offered “as is, where is,” with no warranties, refunds, or exchanges unless otherwise stated.
      • Item descriptions and photos are provided in good faith; actual items may vary.
      • Vouchers, gift certificates, and experiences may have expiry dates, blackout periods, or usage restrictions noted on each listing.

      6. Pick‑Up, Delivery & Shipping

      • Items must be picked up at 272 King Street East, Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. All items must be collected by April 3
      • Shipping is available at the winner’s expense if applicable.
      • Risk of loss or damage passes to the winner once the item is picked up or delivered to the carrier.

      7. Tax Receipts (Canada)

      • Tax receipts may be issued only in accordance with CRA guidelines.
      • If the winning bid exceeds the item’s fair market value (FMV), a tax receipt may be issued for the eligible portion (amount paid above FMV).
      • FMV must be documented and disclosed in advance to qualify.

      8. Privacy

      • Personal information is collected for purposes of auction administration, communication, and payment processing.
      • Charity Auction Today’s privacy policy also applies.

      9. Technical Issues

      • The organizer is not responsible for internet outages, device issues, or failed bid attempts.
      • If the platform experiences significant disruption, the organizer may pause, extend, or restart bidding at its discretion.

      10. Liability

      • By participating, bidders release the organizer, donors, and platform from any responsibility for loss, injury, or damages related to participation, item pick‑up, or item use.

DRUHC is dedicated to assisting unemployed or underemployed individuals to meet their employment goals, and assisting employers in meeting their hiring and training needs.

      • Accessing Registration: Navigate to the left menu. Locate and click on the 'Register to Bid' or 'Sign Up' button.
      • Providing Details: Fill in the required fields with your personal and contact information. Rest assured, your details are secure with us.
      • Confirmation: Once registered, you'll receive a confirmation email or text message.

      Click the link inside to verify your email address and activate your account.


      2. Selecting an Item:

      Now that you're registered, begin by clicking on the item of your interest. This will unveil:

      • Current highest bid
      • The amount required for the next bid
      • Remaining time for bidding

      3. Placing Your Bid:

      Enter your desired bid amount in whole numbers—no cents required.

      If someone outbids you, you'll receive notifications via email and text with a direct link to counter bid, if desired.

      4. Bidding on Mobile:

      Experience the ease of mobile bidding:

      • Tap on 'View' for item details.
      • Press 'Bid' to place your amount.

      Note: Under the 'Bid Now' box, you might find additional details shared by the auction organizers, like Buyer’s Premium, Reserve Price, and Popcorn Bidding.
