September is Sepsis Awareness Month, and we are hosting Swing for Sepsis NorCal on September 22nd.
Sepsis, which was often called "blood poisoning," is the body's overwhelming and life-threatening response to an infection which can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, amputations, and even death. Over 1.7 million adults face sepsis each year in the U.S., with 350,000 dying.
Your participation and/or donation will help to educate medical professionals, caregivers, and the public about the signs, symptoms and treatment of sepsis, so more survive. You will also support the millions of sepsis survivors who may face ongoing physical, mental, and cognitive challenges.
