The Live Your Dream (LYD) Scholarship Award is Soroptimist's signature Dream program. Each year we use the LYD award to support women (from dozens of applicants) with the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment status. 100% of the proceeds from this silent auction fundraiser are going to fund next year's Soroptimist Twin Cities club LYD awards. Our goal is to fundraise $3,500 so that, when combined with our two other fundraisers, we can support the dreams of 6-7 women in the coming year.
Over half of our Live Your Dream recipients are survivors of domestic violence, trafficking or sexual assault. All of the women and families we serve have overcome enormous obstacles such as: poverty, teen pregnancy, and drug or alcohol addiction. LYD award winners may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation. In the words of one 2021 recipient - "The Live Your Dream Award has given me hope and drive for a better future for myself and my children”.
This auction starts Monday May 12 at 10:00am and end Sunday May 18 at 8:00pm. Baskets must be picked up between Monday May 19 - Sunday May 25, or else they can be shipped (requires additional shipping cost).
