Description
Sunny Donaldson is a native Alabamian but lived many years in Florida and Ohio where her art was influenced by the bright colors and whimsical styles of other Florida artists. Then a move to Cincinnati Ohio introduced her to Plein Air painting all of which can be seen in her work today. She now resides on Lake Jordan in Titus, Alabama. Her work can be found in various businesses, galleries and homes from the East Coast to the West. “I have always enjoyed abstract painting; however, over the past several years the work has evolved to include people, animals and landscapes resulting in a loose impressionistic style and sometimes whimsical. The work is created utilizing both brushes and palette knives to achieve value and tone which are integrated in the organic shapes and forms of the painting. While some painters might prefer realism, I strive to evoke a feeling of joy and a sense of the beauty of God’s creation. I think of my work as a vehicle in which to convey these ideas.”
