++NEW POSTERS ADDED WEEKLY+++ The Gorge Cinema has humble roots. It's first season (1974) was projecting 16mm films onto the side of a building next to a gas station in Elora, Ontario. That fall, the cinema found it's new home in the banquet hall of the historic Commercial Hotel. For nearly 50 years the Gorge Cinema has remained an institution in the village. Last year it was announced that the old hotel had been sold to developers, who to the villagers dismay, announced they would not be extending the cinema's lease after it expires in 2023.
