We will give you info of the area. “This is a chance of a lifetime... We all have dreamed about pounding a hammer against steel to make our own knife. ABS Master Bladesmith and owner of Winkler Knives Daniel Winkler has stepped up to make this happen. There are 2 slots open for 2 different forging sessions. The dates will be determined based on available scheduling for the participants.
Winners responsible for lodging and transportation to: Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

Day 1 start at my Blowing Rock Forge.
· I will demonstrate forging a blade using both a hand hammer and an power air hammer.
· Each participant will then forge 1 or 2 blades based on a rough idea of what they want their design will be.
· Move to Boone shop
· Draw design on forged blade blank
· Grind profile to drawn design
· Mark center of blade
· Grind bevels
· Heat treat blade
Day 2:
· Select handle material
· Cut and glue handle
· Shape handle
· Finish steel and handle
· Sharpen knife
· Simple sheath if there is time
Each participant will have personal instruction form me and help from my staff at the Boone shop.

All FFL (Weapons) bids fall under the federal and state laws where you live. Do not bid on an item if you are not allowed to own it. All FFL items will be sent from manufacturer to your designated FFL dealer. All transfer costs are winner responsibility. If you have a criminal history including domestic violence you are not allowed to bid. If you bid and your not eligible, you forfeit your bid to a cash donation. USA ONLY! All items will be sent within 2 weeks of close of auction. Funds must clear before items are sent.
