Kate D. Timmerman

A note from the artist:

“At age 6, I was allowed to walk alone the two blocks that led to the Munday Branch library in Syracuse, New York.  I have memories of struggling with piles of books all the way home. When we moved a year later, the walk was much longer and on the way home uphill! I am delighted to participate in this project for the very worthy Southwest Human Development. My design for the little lending library is an homage to the Russian Constructivist Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956) and the mysterious American artist V. Hubert. The books my characters are carrying are two of my favorites. I read Jane Eyre (for the first time) at age 11 and could not put it down.  The Wizard of Oz and L. Frank Baum’s themes have followed me forever.my favorites. I read Jane Eyre (for the first time) at age 11 and could not put it down.  The Wizard of Oz and L.
