РАГВАЛОД І РАГНЕДА. МАЛЮНКІ З КАЛОНІІ ПАЛІТВЯЗНЯ ЦІХАНА КЛЮКАЧА / DRAWINGS OF ROGVOLOD AND ROGNEDA OF POLITICAL PRISONER TIKHON KLYUKACH FROM BEHIND BARS
In support of the repressed cultural figures and the family of 18-year-old political prisoner Tikhon Klyukach, the Belarusian Culture Solidarity Foundation is launching a charity auction with the boy's drawings.
18-year-old Tikhon Klyukach from Brest wanted to become a hairdresser-fashion designer, enrolled in consumer services college. He managed to study only for a week-the guy was arrested at the Unity March in Minsk on September 6th. The young man was accused of drawing on the shields of the "Rubezh" system together with 18-year-old Sofya Malashevich. The court sent the young man to a general regime colony for 1.5 years.
The historical theme has always been one of the favorites in the works of the self-taught artist, he likes to read historical books, legends, where national identity is intertwined with the roots and origins of culture, - says Tikhon's mother Inna Kalatskaya.
She donated to the charity auction Tikhon’s drawings, which came to her in a letter from her son, when he was still at Volodarka prison, dated March 1. Now Tikhon is in Zhodino prison, waiting for the transfer to colony No. 15 of Mogilev.
"The auction is another way to show how many young and talented people are now being repressed, and solidarity is exactly what helps us survive this infinitely difficult period. The thought that you are known and remembered, a lot of letters that eventually arrive, warmth and help from strangers who become close-this is worth a lot. For us, and for him. To participate in an auction is an opportunity to contribute to a common cause by accepting help to pass it on to someone else in need.”
