Corvus - the Trickster

Medium: Acrylics on watercolor paper

I love crows and ravens. In the summer our yard and fields are covered with them. I love to listen to their chatter. They get a bad rap as being the evil bird. Why, I don't know. Maybe Poe had something to do with it. Actually, they are smart and are quite comical to watch. My dogs love to chase them from our yard. They are referred as tricksters, as they often steal food from under the noses of other animals by working in pairs. The entire body is glossy black feathers that go slightly greenish on the head, and bluish-purple on upper parts. Just gorgeous. I don't see much Raven art, so I thought I would spread the love on this intelligent bird. So, this summer, sit back with a morning cuppa and admire their beauty and playful behavior.
