Description

John F Kennedy. JFK,  was the 35th President of The United States. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was an American socialite, writer, and photographer who became First Lady as his wife. This  litho is a beautiful portrait of the charismatic couple. On January 2, 1960, Kennedy formally announced that he would seek the Democratic presidential nomination. In this letter to John Tirrell, Jr., Editor and Publisher of Boston's Political Times, JFK enclosed a $30 check "to cover certain advertisements in the Times during the campaign last Fall." During his presidency, Kennedy made famous his quote meant to motivate Americans to adopt a more active and involved mode of citizenship: “Ask not what your country can do for you,” he said during his speeches. “Ask what you can do for your country.” after his assassination   November 22, 1963, the Kennedy legacy was dubbed Camelot, "Don’t let it be forgot that once there was a spot, for one brief, shining moment, that was known as Camelot.” The letter and envelope are a copy.
