Bio: Janelle is a certified floral designer with 21 years of experience in the floral industry. She started working at a local flower shop in Brooks, Alberta during her last year of high school and within a couple of days she knew she'd found her calling and that one day she would be a wedding florist designing flowers for one of the most special occasions in people's lives! She received her Certificate of Commercial Floristry at Olds College in Olds, Alberta while studying with a Swedish Master Florist. Janelle loves to travel and learn new floral styles and techniques to be able to provide the artful and inspiring statement florals she and her team bring to Calgary and area weddings. Janelle also holds a Bachelor of Management Degree (marketing major) from the University of Lethbridge and loves the marketing and business side of Flowers by Janie as much as the flowers and floral design themselves. Flowers by Janie was chosen by the readers of Avenue Magazine Calgary as the Best Wedding Floral Services in Calgary for 2022! 

Fun Fact: Janelle started Flowers by Janie in La Paz, Bolivia with her husband Oscar in 2011. Janelle has international floral design experience having worked as a florist in four countries on three different continents; Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Bolivia.  Janie has studied with many well known floral designers in the US and UK. There is always more that can be learned and Janie never wants to stop learning.
