Artist: Mary Anne Dente Oil, 18" x 24" Mary Anne paints dynamic landscapes and floral studies that express her appreciation and fascination with the power and rhythm of the natural world. Working in both acrylic and oils, she uses colour and texture to depict the vibrancy of nature and atmosphere of place. Formerly from the GTA, Mary Anne now resides in Stratford ON and paints both in her home studio as well as “en plein air”. "We visited the asylum in St Remy where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life pouring his soul into his most expressive and dynamic paintings. The iris gardens were in full bloom and I was honoured to experience the flowers that were an inspiration to Van Gogh: stately flowers bursting upon the scene in all their glory only to topple in a tangle of opulent beauty.”
