Description
Artist: Dorothy Forsyth Acrylic, 16" x 20" Acrylic painter, Dorothy Forsyth grew up in Montreal QC during the late fifties/early sixties in a home filled with art. Her father painted miniatures in his later years. As a child, she attended art classes at the Montreal Museum led by Arthur Lismer of the Group of Seven. Later in life, she continued her artistic journey by taking classes at the Avenue Road Art school and at DVSA. Dorothy continues to paint in her painting group that meets once a week. “We were at a friend's country place in the Eastern Townships of Quebec where many old farms have been turned into country retreats," says Dorothy about this piece. "It was a hot July morning and we were touring the property when we came upon this barn with its blue doors, looking cool in the shade of the trees – a stately testament to old times.”
