Bottle of 2013 Carmin by Danenberger Family Vineyards

The most award winning wine that Danenberger Family Vineyards has ever made! This 750ml bottle of DFV's 2013 Carmin is a estate grown Cabernet Franc. It is 1 of 2 bottles that the winemaker, Susan Sullivan Danenberger saved in her private cellar. The wine is sold out at the winery.  It won many International awards, including Golds, Double Golds, trophies, and a 92 point rating.

This is a serious Cabernet Franc with an intriguing nose of red fruits, mahogany, black pepper and dried currant announcing an earthy spice flavor with hints of sage and mushroom. Its firm, grippy tannins are graced by a silky texture and a persistent finish contains hints of dusty dark chocolate, mineral and leather. Pair: braised short ribs, mild meats with flavors of fresh rosemary, tarragon, sage or tomato based sauces, slightly spicy Mexican dishes, chicken mole, portabella mushrooms.
