Meet "Mr. Pineapple" by Gyleen Fitzgerald

"When asked to make Rare Science Bear that represented me as a quilt artist, I knew it had to be a pineapple bear. Since the launch of Pineapple Tool by Gyleen in 2005, I’ve been known for making and teaching Trash to Treasure Pineapple Quilts. True to the pineapple concept I upcycled the materials. The embroidered pineapple on the center square was cut from a linen bread cloth. I used Peppered Shot Cottons strips and leftovers to complete the pineapple block and to color block my bear. The ribbon was from a lovely gift I received last year. I wanted to infuse as much color and playfulness into the bear as possible. Mr. Pineapple makes me smile. You’re going to love him, bid high."
