Situated in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Spirit Hound Distillers is the realization of a desire to produce the highest-quality hand-crafted spirits possible.
Our spirits are made with local Colorado ingredients such as freshly-picked juniper berries and alamosa-grown barley. We built much of our own distillation equipment in order to capture all of the purity and flavor of our ingredients, making sure it gets into every bottle we sell - and every glass you drink.
To date, we have released over eighty barrels worth of whisky. Its reception has been overwhelmingly positive and we aim to continually release new barrels as they come of age.
Our Whisky Gin, Vodka, Sambuca, Moonshine and various seasonal spirits are available for sampling and purchase in our Tasting Room in Lyons.
Our whisky is brewed with all Colorado malt from a family farm in Alamosa, Colorado. We let is age for a minimum of two years in new full-size white American oak barrels. Once the whisky has been aged for two years it is eligible for bottling.
So far we have elected to do no blending of barrels: all of our barrels are bottled as single barrel batches. We love this approach because while all of the barrels are delicious, there are some very interesting nuances from barrel to barrel.
Summer of 2015, we bottled only five barrels worth of whisky - it sold out immediately upon its release on August 22nd, 2015 in our Lyons, Colorado Tasting Room.
Our second release of whisky was April of 2016. Currently it is available for purchase in our Tasting Room and at a few select Colorado retailers.
Please note - this item cannot be shipped and must be picked up in person.

This item will be available for pick-up by the winning bidder at the end of the fundraiser event on Sept. 21st (by 8:15 PM) or at the Ocean First Institute Boulder office (3015 Bluff St., Boulder, CO) by Oct. 5th. We can also ship to the winner of this item, with the winner covering the cost of shipping so that we can put our funds right back to ocean conservation work!
If you require the item to be shipped, we will calculate shipping cost after the auction ends and bill you separately.
