Leaping Deer Ranch is a luxury guest ranch on 186 acres. With well-appointed rooms, plenty of space, large covered porch decks, and beautiful scenery where you will enjoy a peaceful respite.
At the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, Leaping Deer is just north of Las Vegas, New Mexico and about 70 miles from Santa Fe and 65 miles from Taos. The Whittington Center is about 100 miles further to the North. Storrie Lake State Park is 5 miles to the south.
Las Vegas (NM) and the surrounding area has been the filming location for many, many movies and television series. Some of the best-known ones were Easy Rider, Red Dawn, No Country for Old Men, and Longmire.
There are several ski resorts nearby; Sipapu, Angel Fire, and the Taos Ski Valley are the closest ones.
The Montezuma Hot Springs is free to the public and a ten-minute drive from the ranch.
