Serenity in Winter
Medium: Acrylics
The title of this painting comes from the calm feeling I had when I first came up with the concept sketch for this. As a thirteen-year-old who loves to create art, I am in the stage of experimentation where I can really find what I love to paint. As of the past few months, painting birds has been one of my favorite subject matters. There is so much variety between each bird's shape, color, and even attitude that makes them fun to paint. I didn't really know where I was going with this painting at first- I just knew I wanted a little more variety in pose than I normally do with birds. I chose a blue bird because I think they are so cute, and their complementary colors really pop with each other! The idea of a winter scene actually didn't come to me until later into the process, but I am very happy with how its gloomy mood contrasts with the bright, cheery colors of the bird in the end.
