Lately, I have been associating both pride and fear with my immigrant identity. I am fearful because I have never felt 'other' and proud because I am part of a hard-working population that has helped this country flourish.

The Wall and the rhetoric around it have increased those feelings not only in me but in many immigrants.

It is important to call out the wall for what is:
An object if deceit,
An excuse for xenophobia,
A tactic to set working classes both sides of the border against one another.
