A few years ago CCW's watercolor program created a nine part mini-mural project that was used as public outreach and enrichment. All nine of those pieces are installed in the patient examination rooms at the Children's Clinic of Wyomissing, and Ron regularly gets comments, compliments, and recognition from the project. This watercolor, and the companion piece from Bynden Wood, was created in the same manner. Ron created the black and white illustration, using photos he's taken. It is very lightly and loosely sketched out, then rendered with different sized Sharpie markers. Then the photo reference accompanies the prepared board to a worktable where campers watercolor the piece. The collaborative approach promises a beautiful mixture of unpredictable improvisation blended with traditional approaches at the hands of young artists.
