Our resident Food Historian will Private cook a local themed meal for a family on island and do a small Bald Head Island history presentation after the meal. Have you ever wondered what the early settlers of the Cape Fear River would have eaten or how they would have prepared their meals? If yes then join Food Historian and Baking & Pastry Chef Desiree Bridge for a meal prepared for you in your kitchen, based on local historical recipes. The meal will consist of three courses with wine and beer pairings. Once you win, you will sit down with Desiree to plan out your meal from a selection of recipes from the 17th-19th centuries. While Desiree is preparing courses she will explain how early settlers to the Cape Fear River would have procured the ingredients and prepared their meals. You and your guest will also be given a packet of selected historical recipes that have been monderized for you to try yourself. This promises to be a night filled with good food and conversation! Available nights TBA and the event will last from 4-7pm. This event can accommodate up to 8 people.
