Elegant Bracelet and Brooch Designed by Hutton Wilkinson With a Copy of His Beautiful Book, Jewelry

Fortunately we received a donation from a friend of Modernism Week, which goes perfectly well with the new Modernism Week Online Experience, Tour of Tony Duquette's Dawnridge Estate with Hutton Wilkinson, filmed at the stunning Duquette estate, Dawnridge.  A film fact tidbit, Dawnridge is the estate that Sharon Stone's character lived at in the Netflix series, Ratched.  Go to modernismweek.com to view the Online Experience, and then make a winning bid on jewelry designed by Hutton Wilkinson.

Admittedly this is costume jewelry, but HW's line of costume jewelry is highly collectible, beautifully crafted, and this design from the 1980s is no longer in production.  However, this set does evoke just how beautiful and stylish the real jewelry designed by Wilkinson and Duquette is, as shown in the beautifully photographed book by Wilkinson.

Tony Duquette, famed designer from the 1940s through the 1990s, thrilled his famous clients and tantalized collectors with extravagant, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. Hutton Wilkinson, Duquette’s longtime business partner, friend, and protégé, followed right in Tony’s footsteps and also blazed his own path in spectacular style. Together, the two designers literally dazzled the world. The book Jewelry features a magnificent photographic collection of works by both artists, paired with delightfully descriptive prose by Wilkinson.  Duquette epitomized the tradition of “more is more,” a legacy look that Wilkinson has fully embraced and continued.

The lavish photographs by Stephanie Hanchett in the book, many of which were taken in the gardens of Duquette’s fabled Beverly Hills estate, Dawnridge, highlight the mesmerizing appeal of the gems and stones.

Tour Duquette's stunning estate with Hutton Wilkinson, from Modernism Week's schedule of online presentations,  then wear the jewelry, place the book on your coffee table and pretend to live the glamorous life in your own Dawnridge at home.
