Spawning Sockeye in the Rapids (PRO)
Mixed media torn paper collage of a beautiful spawning sockeye salmon in the rapids of a river fighting to push past the stones. Created on a 14x11 canvas panel using acrylic, watercolor, and photos that I digitally edited to represent our footprint in every aspect of the environment by tearing them into the shapes needed to collage this image. You'll have to look closely to see it, but when we're surrounded by natures beauty we tend not to see our impact on it when we're not looking for it. I hope to capture that with this work.
