The Soothsayer - Raven (PRO)

12" x 12" acrylic on canvas I painted "The Soothsayer" for all of the raven lovers out there. I used a photograph of a raven as my guide, and his cheeky character came through, all on its own. With my wildlife series, I want to portray the intelligence, playfulness, and vulnerability of animals. Since 1970, 60 percent of the world's mammals, birds, fish and reptiles have been wiped out by human activity. In Canada, half (451 of 903) of monitored wildlife species declined in abundance. Raising awareness about the plight of our beautiful wildlife and helping the organizations that protect them is very important to me.
